Backed by the same outstanding performance that made the all-new Ram HD the only choice for Motor Trend’s “Truck of the Year” honors, the 2011 Ram Chassis Cabs are now on the way to Ram commercial dealers across North America.

This year, Ram’s highly capable Chassis Cab is ready to suit the needs of more customers than ever before and are available at your local dealer now like Dodge Bristol. The trucks are available in two cab styles, three weight classes (3500, 4500 and 5500), a choice of three trim levels and four different cab-to-axle lengths, ranging from 60 inches up to 120 inches. And yeah, that thing’s got a HEMI.

The Ram 3500 does, at least, and that 5.7-liter V8 puts out best-in-class horsepower and torque: 383 ponies and 400 lb.-ft. of twist. Standard on the bigger Rams, and available on the 3500, is the legendary 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel, developing 305 hp and 610 lb.-ft. of readily available torque. You can experience the power of this grunt-filled diesel at Durham Dodge. Ram Chassis Cabs also deliver the biggest brakes in the segment, with best-in-class brake life; a five-year, 100,00-mile best-in-class powertrain warranty; and, with the Ram 5500, a standard GVWR of 19,500 lbs—also the best in its class.

To further improve the Ram Chassis Cab’s range of capabilities, engineers worked directly with some of the nation’s top truck-body suppliers to develop a truck that could be easily upfitted for a wide range of commercial applications. More advantages for upfitters: The Ram Chassis Cab also includes integrated auxiliary switches, single-set power take-off (PTO) speed and a torque converter lockup in PTO mode.

And while all that hardware will make sure this rugged truck can take care of the toughest jobs, the cab itself is designed to take care of the truck’s passengers with the same kind of ease that must be experienced firsthand at a dealer like Milford Dodge. From mobile Wi-Fi and 3G cellular connectivity, to an ergonomically designed cabin that places controls and instrumentation within easy reach, to premium heated/ventilated seats, it’s obvious the interior of these trucks boasts the same mix of style and functionality as the rest of the Ram Chassis Cab.

“When chassis cab buyers are shopping for proven reliability, they should put the Ram at the top of their list,” according to Fred Diaz, president and CEO of the Ram Truck Brand. “Ram Chassis Cab models offer a higher level of value and durability for the customer who relies on their truck everyday to make a living.”

It’s no surprise that the new Ram Chassis Cab is so well built. Ram took the best of it’s previous year models and made them even better. To see how well built previous models are a trip to New Haven used Dodge will demonstrate the quality the brand formerly known as Dodge put into them, but what an exceptional value they still are.

This new addition will certainly help make the Ram more competitive against import trucks like the Titan, admits one Nissan Titan Seattle WA dealer. However, Nissan has its sights set on making a big slash in the commercial vehicle segment, so this new Ram work truck will have more competition soon enough.
