
With Chrysler still picking up the pieces of its business following bankruptcy restructuring, some models will likely meet their demise in the very near future. Perhaps the most recent vehicle to get axed from the lineup is the Dodge Caliber SRT4.
The Dodge Caliber SRT4 is the performance-tuned trim of the compact Caliber. Poor sales have been cited for the vehicle’s death, and its removal from the lineup according to New York Dodge Parts will enable the automaker to focus on the other high-volume Caliber trim levels.
Following bankruptcy, Chrysler has serious obstacles ahead admits Texas Dodge Chrysler Jeep. First, extraneous costs need to be eliminated wherever possible, which naturally includes the frivolous Dodge Caliber SRT4. In addition, bankruptcy has seriously tarnished Chrysler’s image, and its sales. Therefore, all efforts will now be focused away from vehicles like the Caliber SRT4 and towards higher sales volume products, which appeases Memphis car dealers despite modester consumer interest in the Caliber SRT4.
Although some customers among Maryland Dodge dealers are sad to see the Dodge Caliber SRT4 go, the demise shouldn’t be much of a surprise to most consumers. It did not see the popularity of its predecessor, the Neon SRT4, and it simply did not stack up well to much of the competition in terms of quality and styling. Perhaps with Fiat’s help, a new Caliber will emerge in the coming years along with an all-new performance variant.
