
Following Chrysler’s bankruptcy restructuring, Jim Press rose to the role of top executive at Chrysler, just under Fiat’s Sergio Marchionne. Although the position previously appeared to be a lasting arrangement, Press has just announced that he will be leaving Chrysler by the year’s end.
With Jim Press’ role in transitioning the company from bankruptcy to the control of Fiat now complete, it’s highly likely that this automotive veteran would like to pursue opportunities elsewhere suggests Dallas Chrysler dealers. Prior to becoming the top exec at Chrysler Jim Press was the automaker’s vice chairman and president. Jim Press’ time at Chrysler included attempts to change consumer perceptions of the Chrysler brand, as well as the brand of Dodge and Jeep.
