One of the industry’s key honors was bestowed on two separate Chrysler Group products recently, when both the all-new Ram Heavy Duty and the exciting Dodge Nitro took home a 2010 Vehicle Satisfaction Award (VSA) from the renowned auto consultants at AutoPacific.

Actually, making the awards all the more impressive, they were voted on by over 42,000 new-vehicle owners from around the country, based on 48 different objective measures of the auto-owning experience. When AutoPacific crunched the numbers, the Ram HD had won the VSA in the Heavy Duty Pickup segment and the Nitro achieved honors in the Mid-Size Sport Utility category.

For the Ram, it’s yet another big-time piece of hardware, coming soon after the game-changing pickup earned the much-coveted title of Motor Trend Truck of the Year.

These awards—and the many others for the truck—were the result of a program of wholesale improvements to the Ram pickup for 2010, improvements aimed directly at providing a better truck for Ram customers. These improvements can be seen at dealers such as Bristol Dodge or Dodge Woodbridge to name a few. A new crew cab, a substantially upgraded suspension, and superior towing/hauling numbers, courtesy of two robust engine choices, are just a few of the upgrades that Chrysler quality leader Doug Betts says have made Ram trucks the “new benchmarks for the segment.”

For the Nitro, 2010 has meant a completely revised lineup that provides a much better clue to the Dodge’s aggressive attitude. This year, the Dodge Nitro Shock, Heat and Detonator models add high-style extras like 20-inch wheels, premium sound systems, custom-look paint schemes and, on the Detonator, more horsepower and torque to the striking sport utility. Nitro’s new range refreshes its place in the Dodge lineup, Connecticut Dodge Jeep Dealers say.

As Betts adds, ”With customer-oriented packages focused on performance, features and style, Dodge Nitro is a stand-out value in the midsize SUV segment.”

And with vehicles like the Nitro and Ram HD, it’s clear the Chrysler Group can count on more satisfied customers in the future.
