Dodge will be removing the ram’s head from its logo and changing it to feature two inclined stripes and the word “Dodge”. Why after all these years? As the Ram brand is going the opposite direction, Dodge cars are targeting a younger, sportier audience.
Dodge decided the changing of their emblem would give them a better image, literally. PA Boat Dealers agreed.
Dodge CEO Ralph Gilles believes that the new logo “signifies our sporty character…” especially since “most SRTs are Dodges.” Giving the company a more modern, sporty type of logo might do the trick. As it is, we’ve all probably seen the logo already.
It appears as though the slashes won’t appear on vehicles as vehicles will display the modern and simple logo composed of just the word “Dodge”. Expect to see the slashes just on advertisements, signs, store merchandise, and other printed materials.
Gradually over time you can expect to say goodbye to the Ram’s horns and hello to Dodge’s newest emblem. The 2011 Dodge Charger looks set to be the first vehicle to display the company’s new logo. Quickly following the Charger will be all-new Dodge crossover set to replace the Durango.
