Ram Reloads with Three More Models for 2012

by Dodge in the News on October 31, 2011

Sales of the Ram pickup line are already up 26 percent through the first three quarters of 2011, and there’s no sign that momentum will slow down anytime soon—especially after the brand recently unveiled three more members of its pickup family, all tuned to meet more customers’ needs.

The new names of the Ram roster include two additions to the Power Wagon family, the Power Wagon Laramie and the Power Wagon ST, and both provide their own unique spin on the most capable off-road truck on the market. Each retains all the rugged performance offered by the Power Wagon SLT, with the Laramie adding a significant power-up of luxury and convenience content to the spec sheet, including:

  • Leather seats
  • Premium audio features
  • Dual-zone air-conditioning
  • Wood-grain-trimmed door panels and dash
  • Body-colored fender flares and other unique exterior accents
  • Chrome mirrors, bumpers and grille

The Power Wagon ST is off-road performance stripped to its essentials, with a high-value price that makes it perfect for fleet uses that aren’t limited to the pavement—such as fire and emergency services or forestry departments—or just for any driver who wants an easy way into one of the hardest-working trucks in the U.S.

“When it comes to off-road capability, no other pickup truck compares to the Ram Power Wagon,” said Fred Diaz, president and CEO of the Ram Truck Brand and Chrysler de Mexico. “Expanding the Power Wagon’s availability to ST and Laramie models is not only what our customers have asked for, but also a true measure of the truck’s success and popularity with truck buyers.”

The new Ram Power Wagon ST and Laramie are slated to go on sale in December, priced from $42,620 for the ST and $51,995 for the Laramie; the Power Wagon SLT is on sale now with an MSRP of $46,560

Ram also will continue to extend its partnership with one of America’s top camouflage brands by introducing the 2012 Ram 1500 Mossy Oak Edition. This limited-run pickup builds on the success of the recently introduced Ram Outdoorsman—a 1500 4X4 Crew Cab already kitted out with outdoors-friendly features like the “RamBox Holster” fishing rod and gun rack accessory—then adds a measure of Mossy Oak style both inside and out. A key upgrade: Mossy Oaks “Breakup Infinity’ camo pattern is used on the tailgate, bedcaps, instrument panel and door inserts.

“Ram Truck owners are deeply involved with the outdoors and proudly participate in hunting and fishing,” said Fred Diaz, president and CEO of the Ram Truck Brand. “In recognition of the millions of American hunters, we’re launching the Ram Mossy Oak Edition, as we did the Ram Outdoorsman, to keep our focus on the needs and wants of our customers so that they can enjoy their enthusiasm for the outdoors and their sport of choice.”

The Ram Mossy Oak Edition is due to arrive in dealership in December, with an MSRP that starts at $39,910.
