The incredible Dodge Challenger Drag Pak—specifically designed for the drag strip—is back and better than ever for the 2011 model year, thanks to a big-time power injection. How big? We’re talking 8.4 liters—that’s 512 cubic inches—of V10 fury taken straight from the iconic Dodge Viper supercar.

“With the introduction of our new 2011 Mopar Challenger Drag Pak, Mopar will be the only place to get a factory-built V10-powered race-ready drag car,” said Pietro Gorlier, president and CEO of Mopar, the Chrysler Group’s service, parts and customer-care brand. “Mopar’s new Challenger Drag Pak is a race rocket that will appeal to racers, collectors, dealers, and Dodge Viper owners.”

But that mighty mill is just the start of what this choice Challenger has to offer. The car also boasts competition wheels and tires, a Mopar solid rear axle with a performance-oriented gear ratio, a two-speed drag-race transmission with integrated roll control, a competition fuel system with fuel cell, and a complete race-ready interior with a full gauge package. Also in the mix here:

  • Race headers with collectors
  • A modified tunnel for transmission clearance and one-piece drive shaft
  • A raised floor above differential for solid-axle conversion clearance
  • Polycarbonate door windows
  • Smart-glass door window system
  • Solid engine mounts
  • Lightweight seats
  • A lightweight drag-race only front brake assembly
  • Manual rack-and-pinion steering
  • Front chin spoiler
  • Lightweight cooling module with electric fan
  • Lightweight instrument panel assembly
  • Special cable-operated throttle pedal and linkage

Three different options are then available to put the finishing touch on the Drag Pak Challenger, which starts with a sticker price of $85,512. The Competition Package (MSRP: $7,950) adds an eight-point roll cage, six-point safety harness and mesh window net; a Mopar logo body wrap is available with an MSRP of $950; and the standard “Bright White” paint scheme can be replaced by a number of optional body colors for a starting price of $6,800.

This dynamic Dodge dragster can only be ordered using the Mopar Challenger V10 Drag Pak application, now available online at www.Mopar.com, via the Mopar Direct Connection Tech Line (1-888-528-4364) and at local Dodge dealers.
